Fair Thee Roselle

So apparently roselle flowers bloom for just one day? At least, that’s what a cursory internet search seems to indicate. Fleeting beauty for sure.

Well, okay, as pretty as the flowers may be, I find the calyx to be the more attractive part of this beguiling plant.

Unfortunately, a couple of the plants have been struck with some kind of blight on their stems. I may not have all that much longer to enjoy these marvels, but I’m holding out hope I end up with some seeds worth saving.
