Bombed and Bitten

So of course within the first week of my moving some of the seedlings outside for good, the Bay Area got hit with a bomb cyclone, which knocked branches off trees and inflicted power outages across the region. Despite such extensive damage, all the seedlings survived the gusty storm. Their resilience against the wind was encouraging, but I fear insects will prove a more formidable challenge. Lady Choi, Black Chestnut, and Cha Jogi have all received some nibbles, and it may just be a matter of time before the nibbler finishes them off, especially if they can’t grow a little faster. I imagine the cooler temperatures of the yard, especially at night, aren’t helping with their growth rate.
