Another Box

I’ve been running out of room in the boxes while many seedlings (primarily Manoa lettuce and shishitos) have been long overdue for a transplant, so I threw together a new build. In my haste, I lined up a couple of the boards off by maybe a quarter inch, and I set the whole box at a slight angle from the house and fence. My anal-retentive side feels frustration at these minor missteps, but there’s nothing to be done about them now. As long as the plants are happy, I should be happy.

Besides the Manoa lettuce and shishitos, those plants include gaeguri chamoe, komohana tomatoes, and a single suyo long cuke. I also tossed in a bunch of seeds: yam beans (UH Seed Lab), Sweet Dakota Rose watermelon and Sweet Dakota Bliss beets (Prairie Road Organic), roselle, black chestnut soybeans, cha jogi perilla, and the remaining gaeguri chamoe (all Second Generation). I’m already forgetting where exactly the seeds went in, but I’m pretty sure I can recognize each varietal when it pops up. Here’s hoping they do so soon!
